Course description
The programme aims to train graduates with a systemic understanding of the environment and a sound command of the scientific method for analysing the components and factors of processes, systems and problems concerning the environment, whether natural or modified by humans, so that they can continue their studies in Master's programmes on environmental topics. Mathematical, physical, chemical, ecological and naturalistic disciplines form the basis on which the characterising activities build the specific identity of the programme, addressing the various aspects of Environmental Sciences.
Career opportunities include technical and support activities within local authorities, public organisations and private companies, both in the sampling, monitoring and integrated analysis of environmental matrices in their abiotic and biotic components, and in environmental assessments supporting territorial planning for sustainability.
The programme has open admission, but for access and successful participation applicants are expected to have a good basic knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth Sciences.
Students sit a test to verify the required knowledge. Where the assessment is not satisfactory, Additional Learning Requirements (OFA) are assigned, to be fulfilled during the first year. The criteria for assigning OFA are set out in the programme's Teaching Regulations.
